Doug's notes:

I don't remember a lot of details about recording this song other than I wanted to have a sparse, "minimalistic" arrangement with primarily drums, bass, electric piano and guitar. It was the title song off our 1997 album, For Always.

Mike William's haunting guitar was one of the key elements of this recording. And this is one of the few, original tunes that we've recorded that's in 3/4 (waltz) time. The other one that comes to mind is Kevin Conner's "No One Can Hold Me (Like You)" off our 1989 Tightrope! album.

"For Always" became several people's "song" during the years I was performing it. I've recently retired it from our repertoire out of respect to a friend after his fianceé's untimely death - it was their favorite song.
