Doug's notes:

"When love is troubled, seek expert help! Who'd be better!" - from liner notes ("Help Me Elvis" from 1994 CD Memory Brothers' release on Morrhythm Records.)
I wrote "Help Me Elvis" sometime in the early '90s and shopped it around to various publishing companies. It eventually caught the eye of record producer Earl Beecher of Huntington Beach, California.
Beecher owned Outstanding Records and a new, subdivision called Morrhythm Records. Outstanding Records was already an established jazz label whose cornerstone artist was pianist Paul Smith (best known as an accompanist to Bing Crosby, Mel Torme, Doris Day, Rosemary Clooney, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Ella Fitzgerald.) However, Beecher had just created Morrhythm Records to accomodate other genres of music such as country, soft rock and easy listening and was looking for new artists to sign.
My recording of "Help Me Elvis" landed me a spot on Morrhythm Records' CD sampler. The song was subsequently released as a single and eventually became a winner in the pop category of the 1998 Billboard Song Contest.
