recorded live at Cedar Cabin Club in Ashton, Iowa
Mike Williams of Cedar Rapids, Iowa was a full-time Memory Brother from 1990 until 1995. During that time we toured a lot; and one of our favorite spots was the Cedar Cabin Club in Ashton, Iowa. While going through some old recordings I stumbled across a 90-minutes live recording of us at Cedar Cabin which contained his original tune, "Oh Pretty Little Darling."
Incidentally I believe this performance was actually Mike's and my final appearance together before he left the band to take a "real job" with Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids. And "Oh Pretty Little Darling" was our closing number that night.
Even though Mike's heart was with rock 'n roll and blues, he began writing some really good middle-of-the-road, easy-listening material during our five-year stint on the road - tunes such as "Child's Song", "Just You, Just Me" and "Oh Pretty Little Darling."
I'd forgotten this song until I heard this 1994 recording, and I couldn't resist the temptation to re-record it some two decades later!
