DOUG'S NOTES:

"Straight From The Heart" was a song first released in 1993 on the Memory Brothers' CD Somebody's Searchin' for Minotaur Records. It was subsequently re-released in 2015 on the album This Side Of Nashville.

In this song a weary, traveling musician sings of gigging and life on the road revealing that the lyrics he sings and real life can be one in the same.

"If you only knew just how close to true,
The words that I sing really are,
Then surely you'd know this not all for show,
This comes to you straight from the heart."

Lefty Schrage and Mike Williams exchange some tasty guitar licks throughout this bluesy, waltz-time ballad. And be sure to listen for the angelic, background vocals of Cheri Kothenbeutel and Nikki Hassman.
